K2 successfully delivered a comprehensive electrical and telecommunications infrastructure package for a new 15,294-square-foot facility located within the Ak-Chin Data Center in Maricopa, Arizona. This project required a specialized approach to integrate heavy-duty warehouse storage capabilities with high-density data center requirements. Our team managed the complete installation of building power, lighting, and feeders, including the precise setup of electrical distribution equipment. To support the facility’s climate and operational needs, K2 provided the power infrastructure for large HVLS ceiling fans and specialized SNMP controllers, ensuring the building’s environmental and monitoring systems were fully integrated from day one.

Beyond the building’s interior, K2’s scope extended across the 3.25-acre site to establish a robust utility backbone. This included the installation of over 100 linear feet of primary and secondary PVC conduit runs, the construction of a dedicated transformer pad, and the excavation of critical splice points. We worked in close coordination with SRP to install a 105-linear-foot joint trench for telecommunications, featuring redundant 2″ and 4″ conduit systems. To enhance site security and accessibility, the project featured the installation of nine site pole lights and the electrical integration of powered rolling gates, concrete curbing, and specialized truck dock areas.

The technical heart of the project involved the precision build-out of Room MDF 111, where K2 installed complete plywood backing on the North and West walls to facilitate mission-critical equipment mounting. Our team provided the expert labor for cable tray installations, as well as the rough-in of back boxes and conduit stub-ups for both data devices and access control systems.
